So on top of my problelms with trying to get the DSC loader installed on my computer, now my DCS remote is shutting itself off in mid use. I thought it might be weak batteries so I installed fresh batteries but it didn't improve the condition. Since I don't have a functioning DCS Loader program I can't check to see if this is a programming issue. I seem to recall that the remote will automatically shut itself off due to inactivity after a certain amount of time to conserve the batteries so I'm wopndering if this is connected to that. Anybody have any thoughts on this? Thanks.

There are two things to check:
- First, make sure that the batteries are well-seated in the remote's battery compartment. You may need to stretch the springs slightly
- Check the remote's automatic power-off setting...
Menu/System/Remote Setup/Power Off Time.
A final thing to do is make sure that the cover is firmly seated and the foam presses on the batteries. I have an extra little piece of foam in two of mine to keep the batteries pressed in, if I take that out, and it gets set down anything but very gently, it'll frequently drop power and turn off. Inserted the foam and no more problems.
Found it! Thanks to both of you for the nudge to look under the cover again.
I have had this same problem. I too want to thank you for the input! I threw a perfect piece of foam away that would work perfectly for that "loose batteries" issue.
Clinker,
As Gun Runner says placing additional material under the cover stops most of these problems, I actually have a very thin piece of bubble rap under mine holding the batteries tight in place.

Bubble wrap is a great suggestion, especially since I have some.
Thanks Dave.
