I'm having a problem with my ballast cement darkening the ballast. I have what I consider the perfect ballast color but when I spray the cement on, it turns the ballast brighter and darker.
Does anyone had experience with this issue, and were you able to find a solution?

What are you using?
Woodland Scenic Cement as directed.
Well it will get dark when it gets wet, but it should lighten back up when it's dry.
We're using the Matt Medium from Scenic Express, but have used Elmer's White Glue, and the Woodland Scenics glue. Never really noticed the ballast changing color, but I also weather the ballast afterwards anyway.
What ballast are you using?
For those of us who don't have the deep pockets, white glue and water with a small (very small) drop of dish detergent has been the standard for years. Never had the light grey stone dust i use for ballast change color.

I used the matte medium from Scenic Express and it turned my light grey ballast to a light tan, permanently. Eventually, I will "paint" the tan ballast with a light grey wash. I am back to white glue, water and dish detergent.
