This will be a house with a barber shop added on the front.

The front and rear walls of the house are glued to the base.

All the sidewalls are mounted in place.

Here is the roof section for the house.

Making up the front porch.

the front porch is finished.

A copy of a photo of a 40's barber shop interior is put it inside the barber shop.

I found a printable color strip for the barber pole and glued it to a piece of plastic tube.

The end caps for the barber pole are made out of wood and are turned down on the lathe.

A hole is drilled into the side of each end cap and a small dowel is glued in place.

Here is one of the end caps in prime.

Here is the finished barber pole mounted on the building.

The finished building.

The base is 1/2 inch plywood and the rest of the building is made out of 1/8 inch paneling.

This is covered with sheets of paper that I printed out and glued to the paneling with 3M spray adhesive.

I then spray the whole thing with a clear matte finish.

Doors, windows and some of the trim are from Grandtline and Plastruct.

Wow Ray.....Talk about memories. Back in the 70's my Barber had a shop in town for awhile and then did just that. Built a small addition onto the side of his house and ran his business from home. 1 barber chair, towel steamer, Strap for sharpening his razors, combs in funny blue/green water, the whole 9 yards. Sad how one does not see many barber shop poles any more. Boy did Mike like to talk sports. Buffalo Bills Football, Sabres hockey, High School sports, you name it and he always had the daily edition of the Buffalo Evening News for his customers to read or when he was waiting for his next customer he sat in the barber chair reading it himself. Seems like yesterday!

Thank you for posting this! Great job!
