Who has combined their Bascule Bridge to a Lionel fast track layout? How did you wire it to work? I won't need the train to stop automatically as in the original design.

Yes I did that, saw that a few months ago, in a post, maybe from you. So how did you wire it to get the bridge to go up and down?
Oh. I just followed the wiring diagram in the manual. Do you have a manual?
Just to restate what Chuck said, there is nothing special about using the 313 with Fastrack. You can cut back the roadbed, as Chuck did, or just use a 5” piece of tubular track.
If you don’t have the wiring diagram it is available on line. Just to clarify, up and down is one continuous motion, the bridge does not stay open.

It is original #313 from the fifties. I do have the manual and original wire diagram. I thought since I don't need the train to stop automatically I wouldn't need all the track power add on s? I understand that you don't use the black stabilizer.
If you are controlling things yourself, you do not need the “fail safe” wiring shown in the diagram. You do not need the stabilizer unless you are building a carpet empire. Also use, at least, a 10” straight section of track on either side so that longer cars do not hit the bridge.
So you are saying power to terminals 1 and 3 , controller on terminals 2 and 3 and it will work. skip over terminals 4 and 5 not needed this application. This saves me experimenting. I knew someone would have the answer. It has been frustrating, this bridge has not worked for 60 years. Then in Nov 2020 I found the parts that were needed to put it right. Ordered the parts and have been waiting now a solid 90 days for the parts. It is one of those Lionel mysteries wrapped up in a enigma. I am also refurbishing a coal elevator #97 , left on the side of the road for the trash heap, again, waiting for parts. thanks everyone for your help.
Correct on the wiring.
90 days is a really, really long time to wait for parts. Parts are scarce for the 313. Are you sure you are dealing with a reputable dealer?
