Can anyone tell me the pin #'s on the engine connector of the BAT. in the tender of a 30-1174-1 (4-8-4 NORTHERN GS-2 PS-2 9 volt BATT.), and what voltage should be there?
thank you MONK

The battery goes into it's own 2 pin connector on the diagram I have.
To be safe you should trace it from the engine side. I assume this is the PCB in engine, with the battery in the tender. Normally pin 6 is positive and pin 3 negative. G
G,
The Northern has the battery and PS2 board both in the tender.
Which I assume means that the two pin connector should connect direct to the battery, right?

Yes, the 2-pin connector connects the PS2 board to the battery, which is also connected to the charging jack on the bottom of the tender.

I must be getting old, I don't remember the post having the engine identified, which is why I answered the way I did. It is a strange question for a engine with PCB and battery in the same location. G
Your right it's a Daylight the PS2 boards are in the engine batt. speaker & vol. control in the tender. Thanks for the Eng.pin out. The charging voltage is at pins 6 & 3 on the engine, but not at the Batt. connection in the tender. I'am ordering a new tether Monday.
thanks again MONK
Thanks for the feed bck. G
Does anyone know where the battery port is on Primer GP38-2 to charge the battery on a
Prot 3?
Steve,
Does anyone know where the battery port is on Primer GP38-2 to charge the battery on a Prot 3?
Protosound 3 engines do to have batteries at all, therefor they don't have a charging port at all. They use Supercapacitors instead of batteries.
I missed the PS3, I looked for a GP-38 and it ended up being PS2. I need to read more carefully.
