Hi, Does anyone know where to purchase a battery powered O gauge Locomotive or other unit. Or where to obtain plans for building one.

Lionel makes complete sets that operate on batteries.
This company makes a board to convert select '0' gauge locos to run on battery power. This system also allows you to control the loco with a smart device (phone, etc.)

Look on the web for the term "dead rail society."
I believe forum member Bob Delbridge has converted his trains to battery power. Maybe he will see this and comment. There are possibly others here that have done the same.
THANK YOU
THANK YOU, Very interesting links.
The December 2016 issue of OGR magazine contains my article which is a step by step procedure for converting an OGauge GP-9 into battery power. I have several battery powered locos that run well and have been demo'd at various club meets. Some of these are featured in the current LCCA club magazine.
THANK YOU BOB, I appreciate the info, Clarke
Try an auction site and search for Marx trains
Someone had made a "power supply" that held C or D batteries too
Pre-war rheostats could be used with big 6v dry cells, or car battery, etc.
(I used one in the back of a pickup truck at a car cruise once, no throttle but the 12v was perfect for PW and lasted many hours. (13.5v actually))
