over the past few days I have had time to paint some models. Included are an Overland m-15k for B&O, a pacific limited MP 1932 car (one of 20 made), a Rich Yoder bx-3 (his pilot model) and a psc single sheathed. I use multiple paint shades on the under bodies: blacks, Browns, gray and rust. Some thinned, others straight from the bottle. The yoder car was hit with weathered black and will be marked for hide service

Thank you Erik--- I am still a novice. I did start making an effort to weather cars. I am very perplexed on how to do interiors on Pac Ltd usra models as the bottom does not come off...
ideas?
Not enough Pac Limited cars!!!
Nice work, Brad!

Think "ship in a bottle" and proceed forward until otherwise directed.
They are some nice looking cars. I look forward to getting into painting trains someday.
Chris,
I have a N&W H1 with flat double drop doors from PSC. Do you have any prototype info to share? My email is in my profile.
Thanks,
Brad

Broadside with 1/39 repack date of an H1 on page 266 of Bob Karig's coal cars book. Has AB brake.
Just need decals now.
Hi Brad,
I'll be able to get back to you after Monday if you still need info.
Chris,
An email with information would be greatly appreciated!

Chris,
i have one one image and my decal man has set to work. Let me know if you have interest
Brad,
I sent an e-mail along with the H1 section of Dow's book and a few photos.
Nice work Brad, novice or not. I suggest experimenting with brush technique weathering as it allows gravity to recreate the same thing that happens on the real RR cars. The weathering ends up heavier on the bottom of the car and accents the ribs. To me, this is especially effective on the outside brace and wood plank wall boxcars you are working on now.
I did this with a NYC brass 40ft boxcar, 3 rail, from Sunset, it turned out pretty good. I'll post a photo later tonight. Color matters too as far as your weathering color, for this one, I chose a tan color to look like road dust.
