I decided to add a peninsula to my layout for a stub end station that the trains would back into.  I wanted a large station that the trains would pull under so I built up an area and cut out an arch for four tracks and then set out to try to figure out how to build something.  Thanks to John Sebastian, Alex M and others who post here I hit on the idea to try to convert MTH Banks into a station.  My work at cutting and splicing is rough and the building is only mocked up right now.  I am having trouble building in floors.

Here is my work so far.

The roadway will continue on the right side with a highway bridge I will build.  I just started putting up railings all around so the people and cars will not fly off   My biggest challenge right now is locating a roof section for the bank.  I redesigned the station and it turns out I am now one roof short!

The road in front of the station is 2 lane with parking on the left and a divider to allow you to pull into the station area and unload.  On the right side is a parking lot, that will hold a whopping 5 cars!

Alex M - thank you very much for the offer.  I think I am set with the high roof in the middle and with it lower on the wings.  I am happy for any ideas on details for the roof.  I am also considering putting in a staircase, but I am not sure whether it will be visible enough in there to bother with the effort.  I think it would be cool to have a staircase that leads up to a second floor with train boards and maybe tickets.  I have never been in a big station so I am not quite sure what the layout is like in real life.  I have got to figure out how to camouflage all all the stuff on my ceiling to get it out of all of the pictures and to get some more light in this area.  It is one of two areas where the light is not quite enough.  I thought it would be when we hung the lights, but I was wrong.
