Buzzing MTH GG1

Chance are the 5V board is dead.  It can be tested and it something like audio amp, may be repairable.  But normally need to be replaced with PS-32 board.  I do the repairs.  Recommend not, power up anymore.  G

I don't know if you are familiar with GGG's work, but I can validate that he is top notch.  He has repaired some of my things quickly and efficiently.  A GG-1 being one of them.

I certainly agree with Ron, George is very good, fast and reasonable.  My 5 volt Dreyfuss Hudson worked for 15+ years then, one day, it didn’t.  I sent it to George and it was back within a week.

Hello, i come from France I have the same locomotive, and I must access to the screw of the trucks.

I don't know how can I retire the trucks from the frame. Because there is a little plate on between the motor and the frame. Somebody could help me?

You have to remove the pickup to access the motor screw.  The wire for the pickup is attached with a spade lug, so be careful you don’t pull it off.  You can usually lower it enough and turn it sideways to access the motor screw.
