Cab 2 & Base Updates

#1 you are in a catch 22 problem, in that your base only has version 1.2 "The problem" is you cannot write an update from your computer to a new memory module across the serial port using a base that has 1.2. Again, the issue here is, your base does not yet have a high enough update version to be able to make the required update memory module to update past version 1.2

#2 Because of problem #1 you need to beg, buy, or borrow a module containing firmware higher than 1.2 (1.3 through 1.6 are possible) to update the base and then you could write your own further update modules.

Again, here is the problem. The way updating works, it has to be a file on a module FIRST, and then the base uses that module to update the firmware.

So 2 basic options- you have a module with an update already on it of 1.3 or higher

or

The connection to the computer cannot "directly" update the base. You use that connection, along with a writeable module, to first download the file to the computer, then use the base to write the module, then use the module to update the base.

Does anyone know of somewhere trust worthy that I could send my cab2 and remote to be updated?

In what part of the country are you located?  Your profile doesn’t have any info.

Check with charles ro. They may have the latest up to date firmware moduals for sale. Last I new they had the one for the cab2. Base I am not sure of ? Call them and just ask. Worth a try.
