Any one know if the Cab3 delay is Lionel fixing problems or the just slow uploading from the app distributers.

Been wondering the same thing! Base-3s will start shipping out this month, with July or August arrival (or so Dave said in his latest livestream). He also said that the app would be available in June. The Base-3 System Utility will be online at the beginning of July.

It's June 4th. The Base3 isn't even available yet. Other than operating a Bluetooth engine, without the Base3 the app won't do anything as we've been told it will not work with the existing WiFi and Legacy Base.
The Base3 is due 8/12/2024 according to the Lionel store which has been pretty accurate. I'm not sure what you see as an issue with the App not being released. We'd all like to take an early look at it but it makes zero sense to me to release it this far ahead of the Base3 actually being here.
Just asking a question. Dave mentioned last video that he was shooting to have it released 1 June. He also said that there were a few minor fixes to the app that might hold it up, or the app stores can sometimes be slow. He wants it out in our hands so we can have a look at it, and I think that is a good thing.

I get it. I'm looking forward to seeing it as well. If there are a few things to work out I'd rather they hold on to it. The reality is that none of us know what the status is other than what Dave tells us.
I'm working on releasing it. I was out last week. Maybe end of this week it'll be released?
Also, the Base3 is on the water!
Thanks for the update, Dave. Glad to hear that the first batch is actually enroute.

What's your source? Are they reliable?

Awesome! When the app is released - I assume we will be able to use the bluetooth side until we get the Base3 delivered?
Will we get a Demos With Dave on the Cab-3 App soon?
My understanding is the new app is the Lionchief and base 3 combined. I don't have a legacy controller, the updated Lionchief app will allow me to operate 3 trains at once.

Yep. The Bluetooth portion like the current LC App talks directly to the Bluetooth receiver in the engine.
Cab3 app is online, search cab3 not cab 3. Unfortunately when you press the cab3 side of the app it says 'coming soon'. Bluetooth side seems OK.
The Cab3 App seems to be showing up only for Android devices, not on the Apple App Store.
We can all be guaranteed that another update will be coming when the BASE3 hardware hits the market. This is what happens when you tap on the BASE 3 icon. I do like the new vertical layout!

Dave recently posted that they were still working with Apple to get it approved.
Just got the following from the Google app store. I must have missed it when I searched. See below.
What's new
This release includes the following:
• Bluetooth tab functionality. Control your Lionel Bluetooth-equipped locomotives directly!
Coming soon:
• Base3 tab – this will be included in the next APP update
• Voice Streaming and Recording (VSR) in the Bluetooth tab
See control.lionel.com for more details!
The Cab3 App is now on the Apple Store. I just checked.
Just tested with my Bluetooth legacy. Played around with the app on Android. Learning how to get to all the menus. Once that's mastered and figured out, it's a nice smooth app. Seems to be a little bit more responsive to connecting and commands. Voice command working nicely. Now the Base3 wait continues....
Below is more up to date covering the CAB3 app. see forum link below.
