I'm landing in San Diego this Sunday at 11:30am and was planning to drive strait to Balboa Park to check out the layout. I was wondering if anyone on this forum will be working there on March 2 so I can introduce myself and say hello!

Hi Pete,
The museum is open 11am to 5pm on Sunday. Just missed me (I ran last Sunday), but Kurt and Cheryl will be running this Sunday. They are not active Forum members, but good people. Tell them that you are on the OGR Forum and that Roger (the only Roger in the club) said that they should take you on a tour inside the layout.
I will try to make it down to the layout about noon, so maybe I will be there also and give you a tour myself.
Well you'll be too early for me as I'm running down there the following weekend of the 8th and 9th.
Roger,
Thanks for the contact info. I'll be sure to introduce myself to Kurt and Cheryl and keep an eye out for you as well!
Many thanks to Roger for the great behind the scenes tour! What an amazing layout. I took a few pictures with my phone so the quality is not that good.
If you ever get to San Diego this is a must see. The huge amount of families that were there and the amount of time the kids would stand there and watch the trains and cool scenery was impressive. Standing room only on a Sunday afternoon!!
Thanks for the kind words. Don't know if they told you or not, we are up dating some areas of the layout and adding miller engineering signs. It is always nice to show off the inside of the layout. As I have said before anyone in San Diego on a Tuesday that I run (most Tuesdays except the first Tuesday of the month) you are welcome to come inside.
Pete,
Always a pleasure to host someone from the OGR Forum.
Well I didn't get to meet Pete, but I did meet Roger on Saturday the 8th. I also took a few pictures that day running my trains.
Great photos. Sounds like they are great hosts also.
