I am building a car that requires an ERR/Sunset AC/DC Commander Board with a Railsounds Sound Kit. The Sound Kit manual states that a standard non-rechargeable 9V battery must( in conventional) be connected to the sound board.
However, can a 9V BCR be used instead??

AFAIK, the TMCC boards do not include a charging circuit, so this won’t likely work.
No, but conveniently, I happen to make a product that can be used.
The YLB - RailSounds Battery Replacement (RS-Lite) is a drop-in replacement for the battery and requires one wire to track power and you're set.
Not as a straight one for one substitution, but you do bring up an excellent idea where someone who knows a bit of electrical engineering could design a circuit that could be used to charge a BCR for use on a TMCC board. One thing I am terrible about it removing the batteries from my 3R Sunset locomotives. On the earlier models these are not as easy to get to as on the current designs.
Time for someone with some creative ingenuity to design this?

Mine took a bit more engineering as it has to boost conventional voltages up to simulate the 9V battery, and it also runs on command voltages.
