Tonight we move north of the border to see a Canadian National Railway's U-2-C Northern pulling frieght . CN engine appears to be Scale Model Railways engine from the late 1930's , brass & bronze construction ...weighs in at a mere 19 lbs! Universal motor...very happy to run for hours on end ...seems to like the exercise . Engine is delighted to crawl or race down the track. Pulling a string of frieght cars Lobaugh , Faber, and misc.

I normally run everything on a DC lab  generator... you can pick them up cheap on eBay.

I do have several 10 amp sources

But need to find some decent rheostats to vary the speed with

What does every one use for rheostats ?
