I recently acquired a restored Marx CP 3000 from Bob Testa. Bob did a highly commendable job refurbishing this beautiful locomotive. Since then, I had also bought a New Marx 9152 set of four CP passenger cars. Apparently, this set is much easier to find than the 9153 set of four, which I finally scored on eBay two weeks ago. I finally got it to my local club's awesome layout. I'd like to thank all the members who helped me get this done. A great group of people! My wife was able to be there, and she was just as excited as I was. I took some photos of the consist, and wanted to share them and some video I took. I think they're simply gorgeous. Yes, I know I ran the tender backwards for a while, but I was pretty excited and didn't notice until it ran around a few laps. The locomotive pulls superbly, but had difficulty getting past any crossings and turn-outs. So, I just ran them in an area without any obstacles, and she looked awesome. Great photos and videos Tom.  I also have both sets of 4 cars and it took me awhile to find them. They are in their original boxes.  I have 2 9154 baggage mail cars (also in their original boxes - which isn't too difficult with modern Marx); one to run with each set of 4 cars.

The new search is for a decent 3000 CP engine.

I liked these cars so much I decided to look for the prewar versions.  So far I have one:

Thanks for all the compliments and likes, everybody! Greg, I like that you also have these New Marx passenger cars. They are truly striking when all together in the litho colors they were produced in. I really like the original car. It would look right at home with the new cars. I'm sure if you're patient, the others will come along.

Have you considered adding any of the other passenger cars produced by New Marx to your collection?  They are also based on the Tales of Wells Fargo cars.

They were made for several conventions.

These are  a few of the ones I have.  They look great with the Wm Crooks steamer.

You could also make up a beer train.
