It is a little late but I finally got around to downloading pictures of the Casey Jones High Railers at the TCA Convention in Atlanta. Thanks to all of the folks from the OGR forum who cane by to say Hi. It was a pleasure meeting you all.

The layout ran great for the two and one half days we were set up. Day one started out with next to nothing as far as TMCC signals go. DCS was working. After going through 4 TMCC engines we knew that there was no way everyone had brought a bad engine to run. Then I remembered that the TCA Convention guys had connected our power cord to a junction box under the great looking garden railroad layout across the way from us. We had an extra extension cord so we ran it to another receptacle where we would be the only group using the receptacle. Problem fixed. That junction box must have had little or no earth ground.

Here are a few pictures.

We were set up in the atrium under the large window in the ceiling. The afternoon sun made for some interesting shadows and light on layout.

Steve Martin and I went on a layout tour Friday night. One of the layouts we visited was Jay Cain spectacular layout. I will never have his modeling skills, but at least I was relieved to see that Jay and I have the same taste in engines and rolling stock!

We took down the layout, packed it up and loaded it into the trailer in 106-degree temperatures. After a few drinks at the bar, and cleaning up, we made it to the banquet.

Steve Martin darted off to Michigan after Atlanta. He was not able to send me a few of the pictures his wife took of our move in and set up for the Atlanta TCA convention until today. Here are a few pictures of the effort it took to get set up for the convention.

Richard,

Great job in getting the Casey Jones Hi-Railers activities out to the greater train world. For those who have never attended a National Convention, it is truly a memorable experience. I've been fortunate to attend some TCA and LCCA national meets and glad I did. The two best parts: meeting fellow members and visiting home layouts. Atlanta has several of museum-quality calibar.
