The Catalpa Glen Train Store. This is a cardstock (matte photo paper) building on a balsa wood frame. It's a 1910 - 1930 commercial building with upstairs offices (doctors, lawyers, etc.) that had its first floor facade modernized in the 1950s. Buildings like this were - and are - common in Chicago area commercial strips. The building has a decorative cornice of two pieces of cardstock laminated with double sided tape. The top cornice was given some thickness with balsa framing and cardstock overlays.
