I have pre-ordered these cars from @Berwyns Toys and Trains.
I like the BURLINGTON letter boards on these cars with the prototypical Zephyr Gothic lettering. The Silver Names are all from prototypical CB&Q Zephyr cars, although I have not researched if Lionel's tooling precisely matches each prototype car name. From the catalog illustrations, these models look good to me.
I have the following questions:
Will the car bodies be made from ABS plastic or from extruded aluminum ?
Will the cars be chrome-plated or silver painted ?
Will the car sides be fluted (ribbed) or shadow lined ?
Will the window glazing be turquoise-tinted as in the prototype ?
Will the trucks be silver painted as shown in the illustration ?
Will the dome on the vista dome car based on he curved glass Budd prototype or flat glass Pullman-Standard prototype ?
(CB&Q domes were all Budd products)
Will the observation car have a lighted BR drumhead tail sign ?
Thanks in advance !!!
CB&Q Bill
