We recently held a decorating contest at work, so naturally, I wanted to add a train. Last year, our main display case featured a diorama that I built and we changed with the seasons (see pictures below). This was featured in Classic Toy Trains magazine earlier this year. For this year's contest I decided to try my hand at building a ceiling layout for our office.

This would hang from our existing drop ceiling so limiting weight needed to be priority. I used 1/2 inch plywood and did not add cork (yet). The track is loud, so I plan to add cork when I take it down mid-winter. I hope to hang this each holiday season.

Love what you've been doing bringing the joy of trains to your school!  The ceiling layout has got to be one of the coolest things I've seen in a workplace!!

Your "seasonal" layout you did last year actually played a part in my ideas for the Elevated Line I have on my layout at home.  We change it from spring, summer, halloween, and christmas decor and it's been really fun changing things with the seasons.
