John, thanks for alerting us. I looked it over and it is nicely done. Not to mention the price. I will certainly read it cover to cover.

I like the cover but what a shame what they did to that Rock Island engine and to think I used to ride behind one like it when it was in commuter service from Joliet to Chicago.

Well, John ol' boy.  I'm officially jealous.  Your railroad sure puts my lil' ol' plywood glacier to shame.  Congratulations!

This issue is a great start.  I'm also glad to see in their editorial that they won't exclude the hirail folks. That's something the some of previous "S Scale" magazines didn't want to really acknowledge.  Good S modeling should be highlighted, regardless of flange dept.

S hirail, in my opinion, is like the 3-rail scale crowd in O.  Take advantage both sides of the coin, as it were.  Might make the scale in general more attractive to some fence-sitters.

I agree.

Some of the boys on Yahoo are always against anything that's not 100% true S scale.  I always remind them the Brooks Stover's BC&G is Hirail.  Then I usually hear the sound of crickets.

S Scale ignores HiRail at it's peril.
