imageOriginal 390 two tone blue with cream stripes.  Came today and is DOA on the tracks.  Not even power to the headlight. The seller says she ran before he shipped it and offered to take it back, but that ain't happenin.  She's mine now.  I trust it's a basic connection and she'll be bangin the diamonds soon.  The wheels are straight and everything is smooth.  I'm going to bring it to my service guy and get her tightened up.  I'm sure she'll be just fine.  I like her.  Great original blue finish, with almost no blemishes, the seller said the frame has been replaced and repainted.  That doesn't bug me at all.  The finish and overall look is great.  If she runs good and starts hauling revenue soon I'll be a happy camper.  I like it!  Cheers.

It came up on Christmas Eve with a buy now price.  I jumped on it so fast the credit card burned my pocket.  I am going to trust the seller.  He says she's a runner. I'm going to bring her in to my guy just so it's right and serviced and good to go.  Fingers crossed.  I've got a pretty nice set of blue baby states.  Like to see them have a roll together.

Are blue comet cars different than blue baby states? Sounds like it.  Please share, if you will.  Googling...

Added - I see they are the big ones.  This is a 390, so better with the baby states.  You did say a 400E, so that makes sense with the big boys.  Hey, there's a  blue set for just under 8 Gs for sale right now.  Sell a car and a couple home appliances and you're in like flint.

Originally the big Blue Comet was pulled by your 390E. The next year the 400E hit the scene and replaced the 390E in the set. One year the Blue Comet was pulled by a Black 392E.

Blue Comet cars are 400 series cars and just a little smaller than State Cars. Baby Blue Comet cars are 300 series cars and usually pulled by a 384E steamer.

Ok, I just learned about  400 series cars, in between big state series and 300 series cars.  I have the Greenberg page in front of me.  Junior versions of  the state cars.   It says exactly what you say.  First year came with the 390E, after that the 400E.  Beautiful cars.  I kind of wish you wouldn't have 'enlightened' me to these. But, not really, I can certainly see why you'd like to have those beautys rolling down the tracks.  Wow... Pretty sweet.
