I have read that some of you have used chicken grit as ballast. I would like to know if it comes in sizes ?. The bag that I looked at said small on it. Was not able to see it because the bag was solid, tried feeling it through the bag but could not really tell. Thanks in advance for your replies.

Locally here there are two sizes one called poultry or chicken grit and the other (the one I use) is called CHICK grit. It is decomposed granite particles. If you go to a farm supply store you can also get it in 50lb bags and it is even cheaper. Russ
