Besides the scale Polar Express cars, does anyone know of other longer (>15" and not O-27 size) Christmas oriented passenger cars? I noticed on Steve Nelson's layout (in the other magazine Oct issue) some red passenger cars with brown roofs and green trucks in one of the photos. I posted the question on that forum and someone thought they were PRR, but I don't think they are. They don't have to say "Christmas" or such just look like a Christmas consist.

Thanks.

I'm guessing they were indeed PRR - MTH Railking to be exact (although they may have done them in Premier at some point).   I have a set.   Not real "Christmasy" IMO.  The green is what I like to call "cat poop" green, and the red is a PRR Tuscan variety.  They are neat cars, prototypical, and I like mine, but they don't scream "Yule" if you ask me

BTW:  They are semi-scale at 60 feet compared to the scale 70'.

The Lionel R30 Subway Set (6-31794) is a very Christmasy red. The cars are 15 inches. I've included it in my last three Christmas displays and it is as popular, if not more popular, than the Scale PE.

Emile is right. Nice set. I bought the Candy Cane Transit set (6-30165)

 Looking forward to running this.

i would think Texas Special or MKT Katy Flyer passenger cars might work. They were red and white or red and silver to match the locomotives. I think K-Line or MTH may have made these in the length you want.

I am thinking of making one red one red and one green train to look like Christmas around the tree. Since my dog likes to attack my trains at Christmas, though, I might have to build a table this year.
