Chronometer reading on an upgraded MTH engine

I realize PS 3.0 boards are unavailable at the moment but, a recent experience got me wondering about this.

If a PS 2.0 engine with say 40 hours/30 minutes showing on the chronometer is upgraded to PS 3.0, will the chronometer for the engine read 0 hours/0 minutes/0 seconds when powered up for the first time following installation of the PS 3.0 kit?
