Circus tents foundation suggestions

I have an o scale big top and a menagerie tent to build. They will be a temporary addition to a 8' x 12' layout platform celebrating circuses and the trains that brought them to our small town. The project is being created for a two-day 1890's Celebration in my hometown, Mansfield, PA.

Because I need to be able to dismantle everything at the end of the second evening, what material would you suggest I mount the tents on? The tents will not need to be taken apart themselves, but will be stored separately for a year when the layout will be resurrected for another two days.

Any suggestions you may have will be very much appreciated.
