Took a while of searching to get all the pieces for this one. Just don't see this stuff out west.

Oh, that's nice!
Steve,
I would love to see a video of that running.

What an attractive set - and it looks brand new, like it was made yesterday, although it's more like 40 years old. Really like the design of those cars.

They do look great -- no surprise - they are Modern Era Standard gauge, for goodness sake!
I have the loco/tender and was able to find the three cars in kit form. So far I've only had the chance to put one together, but I look forward to having the whole set together and running!
That is a beautiful set! Nice find Steve.

Rob, I've never put together one of the CMC kits, what kind of a project is it?

Real simple kits. Everything is provided and they just screw together. The only fabrication is bending the end rails and the trusses.
Steve
Funny that the thing you have to do is bend rods: of the fabrication I do, the thing I am predictably poor at is bending railings and other rod items: I get the bends in the wrong places, bend too tight or too broad a radius, whatever. Practice doesn't seem to help, I just messed up another one today trying to bend some railings for a little steeple cab I made!
But the CMC kit looks like fun. Thanks for scanning the instructions. I might find one to put together one day.

Hojack, I will see what I have of these in kit form and be happy to unload any of the extras I have.
Great looking set Steve. These Bicentennial sets are one of the nicest sets that CMC made.

Got the tools etc cleared off the layout and took it for s spin. Lots of work still to do, only one power feed per loop so far. Things seem to run well with a fair power loss on the far side of the outer loop, but that will get better as feeders are added.

Steve,
I love the new layout design. That Erector bridge is a great!

Thanks Arno. Next big project is to add the raised "plateu" where the 2 loops for the race car set will go. If you notice the blue tape on the carpet, that is the outline for the raised area.

Unfortunately I find most of it in the East and have to pay the shipping. But searching is fun.
Steve
I dunno...seems like everytime you hit a show out there you come back with another tinplate treasure. and the hunt is fun.
If anyone is interested, I have the instructions for the Mogul type steamer also.
Steve
is this something that can be e-mailed? I would be interested in a copy. My e-mail is seafoid@aol.com.
Thanks

I have copies of most any locomotive or car made by the CMC or CMT companies if any one is in need of the assembly instructions.
