When I first installed the switch it worked using aux power. Now I noted when the train started over the switch from the siding it would switch to "through" and derail the engine. Also noticed it no longer responded to the Legacy Cab control. Tried to reprogram in place - no good, took out of layout could only get to work using track power jumper and could reprogram but now the commands are opposite -"through" changes the switch to "out" and vice versa. Also noticed earlier when I ran the engine from the opposite end it would shift the track in the middle of the passage so the front wheels went out and the rear went through. Anyone with similar problems? Solution?

Her you performed Fastrack switch bulleproofing- AKA soldering the folded tab electrical connections?
I'm saying this, because a possibly scenario is you are losing outside rail connection and thus getting oddball problems with the ant-derailing function that depends on known good outside rail connections.
It worked before, doesn't work now- that's why we say these folded tab connections are a problem.
The tabs are mandatory fixes IMO, I've had too many of those switches get flaky because of that lame connection method.
Another known issue, sometimes the rear metal backing plate cover can contact the terminals where the wires are soldered internally. Weight on the switch and being screwed down to the table can make this problem worse.
You can either slide an insulator just under the metal cover backing plate, or I use layers of cloth electrical tape. Again the short it the soldered wire connections tend to point upwards towards the metal backer plate.

Yep, my switches got wide Kapton tape on the metal plate for that reason.
