Try buying from www.modeltrainstuff.com I got my command control switches for less than my hobby shop was selling the regular power switches.

Is that what the data connection on the switch is for, to connect the switch to the DZ 2500?

All my 30 switches are command controlled using SC1 and SC2 controllers.  Recently had to replace the antenna in one SC2 with a larger one I made from copper foil.  Also have run earth ground near each unit to insure consistent reliable operation. Since the new switches have antennas, I would not be surprised to hear that these types of modifications will be necessary on some layouts.
