Connecting cable from A to B unit | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Good evening members. I’m looking to buy a used MTH 20–2969–1 Denver & Rio grande PA Alco engine and the problem I’m having is the connecting cable from the A to the B unit seems short and causing the coupler to buckle. Was wondering if anyone had this problem in the past and is there an adjustment on the couplers or on the cable that I could take care of the problem I love the engine it has an A - B - A unit included. Not sure on how to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciate.

Take the body off and see if there is more cable inside.

There is a clamp on top of the truck block. You can loosen the screw and extend the cable, but not too much that it will drag on the track.

Was able to fix it. Removed the body and moved the cable. Thanks for all the answers
