I recently picked up at Lionel 2065 Hudson with a 2046W tender with open back up lights. I know that version was used with some early Turbines, with added lights and lenses. Later versions of this tender had the holes filled in, but tenders with open holes were used until the stock ran out (no lights).
Would the 1954-56 2065 have tenders with open or closed holes for these lights?
I know the Greenberg volume on selected variations covers tenders, but has there been any other printed source describing the differences of the 2046W or other tenders?
