Created a lash-up, the headlights change between locomotives with direction change, but the horn/ bell only function in the original lead locomotive even if it is now the trailing locomotive. Should they change between the lead and trailing locomotives when the direction of travel changes?

No, they should not. DCS keeps the horn, bell and cab chatter solely with the lead unit.
