Cruise M with Odyssey Questions | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I’m doing a few upgrades to some locomotives for a friend of mine. One of them is a Lionel JC H16-44.

I’m almost done adding the ERR Cruise M module to it to give it 100 speed steps, but I just want to check to see if I missed anything.

First, the instruction manual states that I need to remove the ground plug from the J4 connector, but it looks like there isn’t one, nor is there a wire to the serial data in slot 1. I assume I have to add and solder that to the R2LC like other TMCC locomotives?

Second, it says to connect the Odyssey On/Off switch to the ICSP connector on the Cruise M, but this engine didn’t have come with that, so I assume I can skip this step?

Not all engine had a ground, so your ok. Yes need serial data input. Yes you can skip a switch. G

Where does this black wire go? It should go to trigger the prime mover ramp up. You will need to make sure you have the correct version of the CC-M, as the normal model has serial data out on that pin.

I traced the wire to the spot in the motherboard marked DCDRS.

That black wire plugged in above DCDRS in the first slot of the white connector is where it’s coming from.

I'm guessing that is the diesel ramp input to the RS audio card, in which case that would be correct.
