One ditch light out..is it a bulb or led?

Willygee, on MTH website click on service then under repair links, click on order parts. Enter your 20- number. Scroll down to bulbs. From what I see there, they only show grain of wheat 2.3 mm 6 volt and 3 mm 1.5 volt. It's probably the 2.3 mm.
If PS-2 bulb 6V; if PS-3 LED. Some PS-3 use SMD Type LED. G
Thank you DZ and GGG...is it just a bulb or whole housing assy?
The bulbs insert up threw the bottom. I did find it strange that they list a 2.3 mm 6 volt grain of wheat under that engine being it is a 3 volt board. I don't know if 3 mm will fit. GGG do they make the 2.3 mm in 1.5 volt?
I have a bunch of 2mm natural white led's...can they be used with appropriate resistors i wonder?
Willygee.....I had one go out on a tunnel motor, what happened is the bulb dropped down in the hole it fits into. It was still working just couldn't see it.

yes
Yes they have a small diameter bulb for some applications. Yes just bulb. 3V is bulb, PS-3 is not 3V it is PS-2 so bulb. Yes LED will work, just use a resistor to regulate current down based on a 6V PWM voltage. As an example MTH use 150 ohms for parallel marker LED on a 6V CV board. I have used 150 and also 220 on series wired markers for upgrades. So adjust resistor to your brightness liking. G
It has always been those springs acting up for me. I haven't lost a bulb yet!
The ditch lights in my three engines come from the board, not the springs.
