I have graphics for the prewar large billboards, Can you the outline of that and paste on new inside graphics to make vintage billboards. At one time (maybe still) there was a site that had a bunch of photos of vintage billboards - he had a pile of full size ones for sale, I make up some from those photos.

Some that I was making for the O gauge sized billboards in the past. Might need to cut and paste onto the standard gauge billboard frame, I haven't attempted that yet.
Here are two billboards I made last year or so. There is a light in the top under the removable roof. They are double-sided. The graphics were based on some local businesses as well as the 'standard' Lionel border:

I used some of the magnets with vintage advertising printed on them as billboards. I simply place them on the side of an airplane pylon that is on my layout. The graphics date back to the 20s and 30s. You may be able to use those or at least the graphics as source material.

Tom! That is insane! Lit too?! Wondering if you pieced together with std parts, or you made everything? It is gorgious! I have 4 x 6 train postcards I would love to use. They are advertisements for Flyer, Dorfan, Ives, and Lionel.

The lights are mounted under the roof, a single bulb in each. Most of the parts were scratch built from sheet metal. The brass ladders are from a Lionel Std. Gauge boxcar and the two support 'columns' are actually cutoffs from old electrical conduit. I love the postcard idea! I have a box of some vintage cards from a few local locations that no longer exist; may have to come up with some ideas to make a few more of these, haha.

Not exactly standard gauge, but an original American Flyer billboard c. 1923. It is simply a box end label mounted on a cardboard backing and then attached to the posts. Flyer also made some standard gauge billboards in the late 20s early 30s that were similar construction and used the catalog cover images.
I basically doubled the O-scale size and frame design, and worked with my local Office Depot print dept clerk to custom design and print mine. Made sitting and standing frames out of wood for them. These on the Upstairs Layout.
