Dc power feed into t.i.u.?

Stupid question! I am setting up some on30 branch lines feeding by o guage main lines. Can I have a dc transformer controlled by one of the variable channels of the t.i.u. By feeding the full power of the transformer into the input of a variable channel ?

No, you cannot do so directly. Variable channels can only control AC voltage

You could, however, put AC into a variable channel and then rectify the output to DC.
