Yes, I'm still using 4.3. While I'm not so interested in 'apps, iphones, tablets, etc, for train control, I will seriously consider upgrading to 6.1 IF I could be sure that it would solve my most vexing problem: Many [most?] of my MTH engines will not permit me to have smoke and headlights SIMULTANEOUSLY! I must live with one or the other! Not cool. Is there a known 'fix' for this problem?

Bug, much improved/fixed in later releases.
Personally, I have never experienced this situation with any release of DCS software. I would, definitely, upgrade to the latest version of software (6/6.1). If, after the upgrade, you still experience this phenomenon, I would do a factory reset to one locomotive to see if that clears the problem. Assuming that it does, I would delete all locomotives from the remote and factory each adding them back one at a time. Good luck.
Truthfully, even if this is not a known bug of that version, asking for support on a software version that's years old is reaching. Most of us have moved on, and the likelihood of having someone still running that version to test is pretty remote.
John,
asking for support on a software version that's years old is reaching.
I totally agree, however, this is an old story with Phil. He and I have discussed the subject of staying current for support purposes on several occasions. He's reluctant to do what's necessary to improve his DCS experience.

I think many users stay with older versions and don't post that publicly. Some have posted here about doing that. I can only guess that users have become shy about trying out new versions and getting new problems. Kind of a wait, and let someone else work it out, attitude.
I almost did that once. I prefer to stay current for the most advanced features. That has caused me grief a few times now. Overall, I still feel it's worth the price.
Thx, guys....especially BB. Here's my story/problem:
1. I don't have the ability to do the upgrade myself. I'm a very unsophisticated MAC user.
2. I'm waiting for a local 'PC' friend with little DCS experience, to: [1] Obtain the proper 'hook-up cable'. [2] Find the time to do the update.
3. It's quite a big job, as I have 5 TIU's, 3 of which are difficult to access. I also have several spare/backup TIU's, which would also need the upgrade.
