Hi, I have been trying to down lode the DCS 5.0 to my Rev L TIU so I can use my new WiFi modem. Everything works fine via my PC's USB port to the DB 9 port on the TIU, The system finds the TIU just fine, we complete the down lode to my PC of the MTH Loader and the up grades for the TIU and remote as directed.

When we go to "My MTH Files" so as to direct the loader software there is nothing in the folder when it is opened.

Adobe dose not recognize it and tells me that there is no such files found.  I completed a down lode of the most recent version of Adobe with no change.

I good physical analogy would be if I ordered and new train from MTH and the Post Office delivered an empty box.

What am I missing here? I can find nothing in the DCS Companion to explain this.

Thanks for any help.

Well even if you did download the upgrade files, unless when you unzip them, you extract them to the "My MTH Files" folder, you still won't find them.  My suggestion is if you did extract them, do it again and see what the path is for where the files were extracted to.  Then when the loader points you to the "My MTH Files" folder, just navigate to where they were extracted to.  Or move the extracted files to the "My MTH Files" folder.

I did all of the above. As for the Adobe issue it just pops up. Adobe is a PDF reader and should have nothing to do with opening this file. I double clicked on the folder trying to find the files, that is probably when Adobe tried to treat it as a PDF.

As for the "My MTH folder" I do save it to there and I find it just fine but when I open it there is nothing in it. In other words there are no files to down lode to my TIU and remote.

As for the Loader, yes I did down load that as well.

This is very strange, I must of down loaded a hundred files for personal and work use over the years but never saw anything like this.

On a side note, the Rev L TIU works fine on my layout, but when I tried to connect to the TIU USB-B using a USB to my computer, "USB-A to USB-B" adapter cable per the instructions in the DCS Companion, I get nothing.

But, that is a secondary issue because as I stated above the USB to DB 9 adapter cable works just fine.

I am going to try the extraction that Marty spoke of. I'll keep you guys posted.

OK, good news from the wonderful world of Mario and his adventures in computer land.

I got my sons Apple Lap top, it has a Windows 7 partition on it. Using the DB 9 to USB adapter it worked just fine.  My TIU and two remote Hand Held units are all up graded to 5.0

For some reason my PC was trying to open the files with Adobe. The only thing I can think of that caused this was I up dated the latest version of Adobe and I must have it set as my default. I also received a free Windows 10 up grade from Microsoft over the net a couple of months ago and the emulation that MTH uses doe not appear in my option list.

With that in mind I was wondering if anyone else running Windows 10 are able to do DCS down loads?

In any case I have a little house keeping to do on my PC.

As for the mini USB-b port on the TIU it is still in question. I will know for sure when I go to connect my WiFi unit to it tomorrow. I'm hoping it was just a bad cable, or simply more of Mario's fat fingers that kept it from working yesterday.

Later guys and thanks for the help.
