I am looking at upgrading from conventional to the DCS Explorer. I have a Proto-sound 3.0 engine on order. However I already have a ps1 Brill trolley. Will I be able to control that trolley with the explorer as well?
I think the answer is "no" since the DCS explorer is designed to only operate proto 2 & 3 command control engines at the full/constant 18 volts. A Proto-1/PS1 is conventionally controlled and speed is based on voltage received.
The full DCS system via their TIU has the ability to run conventional or Proto1 trains on either of its two variable voltage channels.
