Anyway, when bought, I will be adding dcs. Does anyone have a photo of the motors? I've done am mth diesel upgrade, but want to be sure I think I can handle the necessary mods to do the williams.
Thanks

There were some photos posted in the thread about adding an interior to the scale Williams GG1. Also, you might look around for the MTH model if going that route. I've seen them selling for very good prices.
I think you may find that the cost of the Williams GG1 and the DCS upgrade might be either the same or slightly more that the cost of the MTH model on the secondary market.
However, I think you are looking for the Bi-Centennial version. Is that correct?
Found the photos and some great interior ideas here

Now I'm just hoping Gunrunnerjohn does his upgrade and posts a pic, I can learn from
Yes I am looking for the Bicentennial model. Great minds think alike, I just set up an ebay search for MTH gg-1. Now to MTH site, to see if they did it in premier. Not since 2002 with O72 min curves, so....Rats
That GG-1 is in the queue, but I'm getting some stuff ready for a modular show in January. I have all the parts in a box waiting for me to get to it. I bought the Lionel cab interiors and I have the PS/2 upgrade kit all assembled.
As I mentioned elsewhere, this shouldn't be an issue, the PS/2 board set isn't that large, and there's a lot of room in the scale GG-1, even adding the interiors.
Nope, we're at the Oaks PA convention center on the 18th-19th for the Worlds Greatest Hobby On Tour
I just took my new Williams GG1 out of the box today. I ran it in conventional, its a jackrabbit at the lowest speed, powered by the DCS handheld. It got to such speed that a drive truck derailed on O54. Not a problem. I will order the interior bits from the other thread, a diesel upgrade kit and it will be ready to run next Christmas.
I only run them in conventional long enough to see that all the bits are working and there is no mechanical issue. Then I open them up and rip out everything that isn't a motor and start the upgrade.
I have converted several Williams G motors and it is a good engine to work with. Be careful around the coupler wires as they want to say hello to the axle. Put the couplers on and you will see if anything needs to be tweaked.
One more heads up. The Williams flywheel sits a bit lower to the motor than the MTH. When you install your tach bracket, cut the center out that would normally wrap around the motor shaft collar. The bracket will still do the job. Everything else is not an issue.
George, I put them on every conversion that that I do. The Williams G is the only loco off the top of my head that is an issue. I know someone will pop up and say they fit.
