Maybe I need a quick refresher, but I'm having a bit of trouble loading the loader. I have a windows 10 tower computer that has both USB and or the serial port as I have a new "L" TIU and an older TIU without USB.

When you go to install the loader, where should you load it? And also when loading the 6.1, where should you load that to? Any thoughts? I've been away from trains and DCS for awhile. Just looking for the easiest way to load.

Thanks!

hi you can load either TIU they both have a rs232 connector on the end where your remote input and aux input power supply jack! you have to use the correct usb to rs232  cable which will work with any TIU. the other problem you may not be aware of is you have to have loaded the device driver from the mth web sight  in to your computer then reboot which will then let you connect to the TIU com port!

ounce you have the loader up and running you have to use the search for TIU com port. then it should come back and tell you which port u connected to. quite a few people have been having problems with windows  10 not installing sound files etc. including me that's why now I use windows 7 with no issues.

p,s. below is the proper device driver you may need to make your com port to work!

All is well, I finally gave up on my older computers, of which, ran my DCS loaders flawlessly in the past. For some reason the older computers didn't like the new loader or winzip. I loaded to my laptop and everything works great as I was able to load 6.1 to my new TIU with the USB and update my remote.

I have two older TIUs that will need the special cable listed above. THANK YOU to all that helped. Ordering the cable today.

Alan thank you very much! I'll email you on several other questions. I have a cable coming so I can upgrade my two other TIU's but no hurry on those. Also, If the cable works as it should, the Loader not working on the older comps is moot.

No layout to run on at my place yet but soon.........yes, we all say that! LOL!
