DCS to Legacy cable questio

Will a MTH 50-1018 TIU to TMCC cable work with a Lionel Legacy Y cable's serial port? 

Not to connect to a Legacy Command Base. For that you will need MTH #50-1032 TIU/TMCC-Legacy 6' Connector Cable.

Will the older 50-1007 cable work with Legacy, as well as Atlas, 3rd.Rail, K-line, and TMCC locomotives?

I can get the older cable for free, and don't want any problems.

Otherwise I'll have to buy the newest 50-1032 cable to make everything work, right?

It's the command base that's the issue, not the engines themselves.

The original cable will work with the Legacy Command Base, however, it works poorly if at all with the TMCC Command Base. Only the #50-1032 works with both.
