I'm having difficulty deleting a train from my Cab2,
and would like some advice with this problem.

With the engines in the train on the track and powered, select the TR#, push CLR.

I cleared the train, but I'm still showing Train 12 on the Lionel Cab1 mode screen.
Please bear with me, I'm still learning how to use my new Legacy system.
I have had a cab1 and DCS on my layout for years.
All the info is in the base and not the remote. Its a little different then DCS. Just keep following this forum and you will learn alot.

Ah, but the remote remembers what it was running before shutdown. Tried that with a second base that was basically empty and the remote showed what was running from the last session.
Yes it does. When I bring my remote down to the club and I turn it on, it will have engine 3 listed as the last engine I used but my base is on channel 6 and the club base is on 7 so nothing happens. When I scan for the club base all the club engines come up in my remote. Thats one of the pluses of legacy.
