I have recently been having problems with the o31 switches in the yard area of my layout especially with my railking K4. When running through the switch in reverse with the switch thrown in the "curved " position, the front truck of the engine jumps up onto the moving part of the turnout as seen in the picture. This happens probably about half the time I run that engine through a curved swith. I have been having issues with other engines and cars too but not near as frequently. Does anyone have a fix for this?

You say you have problem "especially with your K4". To me, this indicates a locomotive issue and not necessarily the turnout. I run into issues with Lionel truck guage sometimes with my Atlas"O" turnouts; I have never had an issue with Atlas"O" trucks on Atlas"O" turnouts.

Does the lead truck have a spring above the pivot pin? Can you stretch it a small amount to increase the down-force  exerted on the lead truck? Does the trailing wheel in the lead truck seem to be tighter in guage than the front axle set? This would tend to make it "pick" the guard rail entering the turnout and climb up and derail. Sometimes you can spread the wheel guage slightly and eliminate this issue.

One last thing, does the lead truck pivot and turn freely in both directions? Check to be sure it is not hanging up in one direction inhibiting its free movement.
