On several youtube layout videos, I have noticed in some storefront structures, a tiny MRR operating in the store window.

These were O scale layouts.  I have been looking for a couple of days on the internet for one of these animated detail MRRs and am not having any luck locating one.  Would anyone here happen to know or have come across this tiny MRR set ?

Thank you.

Thanks for the effort Gents,

I have actually managed to search out what I was referring to originally.  This animated storefront tiny MRR layout was actually a custom built animation by SMARTT.  I spoke to them over the phone and they have built several of these for large scale model railroads. Many have clips on YouTube.

Unfortunately the near $3,000.00 price tag for the complete department store/window layout and onlooker children is pretty steep for a single diorama.  It is most likely well worth the money as the entire scene contains multiple animations, however, it is at this point, out of my budget allocation for a Christmas Layout.

Thanks again for taking the time to help.

Thanks Sam.  I wasn't aware of those and found one on Ebay.  She is asking $550.00 for reissue.  Going to try to find out what it retailed for at issue in 2009.

This is not the one I was trying to find but may work out well.  The ones I had seen were the SMARTT custom built animations.  One was set in a big department store front window (sort of like a Macy's or Marshall Fields big stone/brick store) 40s era.

I tried finding those again, as it was at least 2 years ago.  Gave up after a few hours on youtube.  The sheer number of MRR layout videos on there is overwhelming, but great to see such a growing interest again.

The Lionel one will probably work for what I was wanting to do, but I will modify the store structure shell itself for an earlier time period.  May take it off completely and use the interior with the animated layouts.  Was really wanting to do one of the old brownstone type department stores with the big front windows.  Remember going every Christmas to Marshall Field's and all the Christmas storefronts down State Street and Michigan Ave to see all the animated windows and the train layouts in the store fronts.

Was wanting to recapture that scene.

It is great to have such a deep well of information here.  Thanks once again
