This will be my first diesel ever.  It is a Lionel Milwaukee Road GP-9 Diesel Locomotive, 6-18565. I bought it brand new on eBay yesterday.  It is currently on a UPS vehicle somewhere between Pittsburgh and Houston.  I only have 671 and 681 steam locomotives.  The 671 was from my childhood, and I got the 681 at an auction with Stout Auctions.  It was in incredibly good shape.

I thought that the idea of third-hand (or more) motors in a small industrial setting has great modeling possibilities. And the equipment can be as nasty-looking as one wants; or they can be squeaky-clean such as this one that I shot in Pelzer, SC:
