This will be my first diesel ever.  It is a Lionel Milwaukee Road GP-9 Diesel Locomotive, 6-18565. I bought it brand new on eBay yesterday.  It is currently on a UPS vehicle somewhere between Pittsburgh and Houston.  I only have 671 and 681 steam locomotives.  The 671 was from my childhood, and I got the 681 at an auction with Stout Auctions.  It was in incredibly good shape.

I took these in South Charleston, OH 05nov17 on my way to Springfield:

I thought that the idea of third-hand (or more) motors in a small industrial setting has great modeling possibilities. And the equipment can be as nasty-looking as one wants; or they can be squeaky-clean such as this one that I shot in Pelzer, SC:

I took this on a Saturday and found out later that it had just come out of the paint shop a few days before.

I love these Alcos. Lionel with custom built pilots and detailed trucks.

Safe to say every Postwar fan's must have. My good old Santa Fe 2343 AA units. Really solid condition with good paint and body details still in fine condition. And they run great!  Such classics.

This is my first venture back into diesel locomotives in over 70 years…received a Lionel 2032 Erie train set for Christmas of 1951. I’ve always liked the Santa Fe paint scheme…and so, this Menards beta offering has now found a home on my layout. 🚂😉😺

Since we can post real ones, I saw CP 7020 passing through Ashland while I was on my way to class. Photo is kinda bad since no one expects a Canadian Veterans unit in Virginia so I had to scramble to catch it, but hey, I saw it and got a photo, and that's all that matters right?

We're into early diesels here on the Panhandle.

First, here are 3 Alco S-2 switchers in Weirton Steel green livery (#203, #207, #208).  Weirton traded in their Alco steamers for diesels starting in the 1940s.

This is the PRR's eastbound Spirit of St. Louis (Train #30) led by an E-7 A-A pair.

Here's a couple of diesels I got on my table right now. I was trying to run the U30C, but it's a little funny right now.

Here's a video of the Sharknose running. It also came with a powered B unit that I'm just keeping in the box right now. You don't necessarily need all that power for a 6-foot table!
