Diodes: 1N1190AR vs. 1N1190RA

A friend of mine liked the way my ZW performed with the 1N1190AR diodes installed. He wanted the P/N so he could order some for his ZW's so I gave him the catilog with the number highlighted. He asked if I wanted any extras and said yes. He was over my house yesterday to give me the ones I ordered. Before putting them in stock tonight, I checked the number and it is 1N1190RA. Knowing the stock numbers mean something, What is the difference between them?

the "AR" denote a "reverse leads" diode. so the forward conducting polarity is opposite the "RA". they both are 600volt 40 amp rated diodes.

what this probably means is the older conventional locos (tenders) will work fine but the newer models, the bell will sound instead of the whistle/horn when you push the whistle button.
