I'm considering a new layout for my old american flyer train. It will have a very gentle incline, but the decline will be fairly steep and be going around a curve. (think figure 8). I have kids who will be running the layout so I want to slow the train down on the decline. I have found some info on using diodes and insulated rail sections pertaining to O gauge, but I couldn't find much for S. I'm assuming it would be the same concept, but you know what happens when you assume. Anyways, I have very little electrical knowledge, so any info would be helpful, and any suggestions on which diodes to use, which rail to put them on, etc would be great. Cheap and simple comes to mind. Thanks in advance.
