Good Day,
I’m curious, do S Scale Model Railroaders have any Intermodal trains? Is this of interest?

Des Plaines Hobbies (www.desplainesobbies.com) produces Gunderson well cars, 48' containers, 20' containers. They are in stock and ready to ship.

Good Day Roger,
That is a fantastic selection. Why no pictures of the Husky Stacks or containers on there website. Anyone have pictures of the cars and containers?

May seem wierd but go to:

Owner of Des Plaines does his own (or did) web site and when he changed the format, has not been able to load the pictures as yet. Des Plaines has a nice line of both transitional and modern rolling stock. In development is an SD 45.
S is an exciting place to be at this time in history.

Hi Roger,
Thanks for the information. The Husky Stack cars look great. I like the covered hoppers too.
AM has a 5 runner with truck trailers that looks pretty darn good. SHS had their flat car with TOF equipment and trailers, hoping MTH gets those back into production soon. BTS had a kit for a TTX 85' flat car with trailer yoke hitches and an F39 PRR trailer train car (65'). Those are no longer available but they are out there. I probably won't get to building mine since my direction has changed on my layout ideas.

The only photo I got of a true intermodal train in S, and not a very good one. CHASM @ the All American Railroad Show in Lyons Township H.S., 2001:
And, I thought I'd add some former SHS Piggy-back cars traveling in a pack:

Good Day Gentlemen,
Thanks for the information and pictures. I'm curious, are the Des Plaines Husky Stack cars plastic or die cast?

Plastic.

I built a three spine container carrier. Here is a picture of them before assembly and painting. I will get pictures of the finished product.
