I was thinking of getting a new F3 that has Legacy and was wondering if you have to program(assign ID#) to both units. I would also have a station sounds car in this set, and I suppose I would have to set this up as a TR, if I wanted to make it work in sync. Is that correct? thanks.

Hi. I have a couple of Legacy 'F' sets, and while you can use the same number for both 'A' units, you get better functionality if you assign them different numbers and run them as a 'Train'.
is the second A a dummy? you do not have to program it but how will you control the smoke unit (if you turn on the smoke units) (I do not run my smoke units on any diesels)
I build an MU or "lashup" with them, either powered or dummy. The only Legacy dummy I have has smoke and directional lighting, so it might work as well with the same ID. The difference is all the lights would be on for a given direction, and you can't turn one around to run them tail-to-tail and have the lights work properly.
