I am working on my lower level where, in some places there will be three or four parallel tracks spaced five or six inches apart. The level above will be similar. Is it helpful to place ground wires between the tracks on the lower level AS WELL as under the upper level above the lower tracks? Can too many ground plane wires be a disadvantage?

Many thanks,

Scrappy

Eliot, it can't hurt to put the wires between the tracks, though if the parallel tracks all take their ground feed from the same bus the problem you are trying to correct may not exist. I do however strongly recommend the ground plane between levels. A layer of chicken wire tied to earth ground has served me very well between my main and upper levels. I installed that as I was building the upper deck. I only wish I had done the same when I built the main level above the hidden yard.
